How to Defeat Mihawk Raid — Boss Strategy Guide

The Mihawk raid is the highest sustained Awakening Stone source in Re:AOPG. Each clear yields 4-6 stones plus a chance at the Yoru sword and Hawk Eyes accessory. This page is the full Mihawk raid strategy — phases, builds, party composition, and the fastest solo clear method.

Mihawk Raid Basics

The Mihawk raid is unlocked after you complete the Sea 2 entry chain. Each clear takes 8-15 minutes depending on build and party size.

LocationKuraigana Island, Sea 2
Min level700+
Min stats4,000 per category
Recommended buildDragon Awakened + Godhuman + True Gryphon + Mink V2
Party size1-4 (4 strongly recommended for fastest clear)
Respawn30 minutes
Time limit12 minutes

Solo Mihawk is possible with a strong build, but a 4-party clears in 6-8 minutes.

Mihawk Phases

Mihawk has three phases:

Phase 1 — Sword Swings (100% to 60%)

Mihawk swings his sword in three patterns:

  • Horizontal slash — frontal cone 90° wide. Dodge sideways or jump.
  • Vertical slam — narrow but high damage. Dodge backwards.
  • Triple combo — three slashes in quick succession. Strafe-dance.

The phase takes 4-5 minutes solo. Use Magma v2 or Mammoth for AoE chip damage while dodging.

Phase 2 — Black Blade Yoru (60% to 30%)

Mihawk unsheathes Yoru and gains:

  • +50% damage.
  • A dash attack that closes 30 studs in 1 second.
  • A cross-slash that fires a piercing projectile.

The dash is the most dangerous attack — it one-shots under-levelled players. Keep distance and strafe. The piercing projectile can be dodged sideways or blocked with Armament Haki V2.

This phase takes 3-4 minutes.

Phase 3 — Hawk Eyes Stance (30% to 0%)

Mihawk enters Hawk Eyes stance. He:

  • Summons a shadow clone (50% of his HP).
  • Gains +30% attack speed.
  • Charges a single-target piercing attack that hits for 80% max HP.

The shadow clone is the real threat — ignore Mihawk and burst the clone first. The clone has half the boss’s HP and drops the same loot pool. Once the clone dies, Mihawk enters a vulnerable 8-second window. Burst with your strongest combo.

This phase takes 2-3 minutes.

The Awakening Stone drop is the primary reason veterans farm Mihawk. At a 50% drop rate and 30-minute respawn, the Mihawk raid is the best sustained stone source. The full Awakening priority is on the Mythical Awakening order page.

Best Mihawk Builds

Solo Build

For solo clears you need a high-burst, high-survivability build:

  • Race — Mink V2 (dodge speed).
  • Devil Fruit — Dragon Awakened.
  • Fighting style — Godhuman.
  • Sword — True Gryphon (best melee scaling).
  • Accessory — Shadow Monarch’s Crown (if you have Elbaf) or Hawk Eyes.
  • Title — Slayer (raid damage variant).

Solo Mihawk takes 12-15 minutes with this build.

4-Party Composition

For a 4-party, role-split:

  • DPS 1 — Dragon Awakened + Godhuman + True Gryphon (lead damage).
  • DPS 2 — Magma Awakened + Sharkman Karate + Sword Saint (AoE).
  • Support — Mink V2 + Light Awakened + Soru (buff and burst).
  • Tank — Fishman V2 + Sand Awakened + Water Kung Fu (point tank).

4-party clears take 6-8 minutes.

Mihawk Party Etiquette

Most Mihawk parties use auto-accept and voice-chat etiquette:

  • Don’t grab aggro before Phase 1 ends — let the lead DPS open.
  • Save your burst for Phase 3 — the 8-second vulnerability window is the damage check.
  • Bring healing food — Phoenix fruit or cooked meat heals 30% HP.
  • Use Armament Haki V2 — required to survive the cross-slash projectile.

Mihawk Speed Run Tips

Speed runners target 5-minute clears:

  • Open with full burst combo (Mink V2 + Light Awakened + Soru triple-tap).
  • Skip Phase 1 kiting — just DPS through it with Magma v2.
  • Burst the shadow clone in Phase 3 with Dragon breath.
  • Use PrimalSayian + EternalContract codes before the run.

The fastest recorded Mihawk clears are 4:52 with a 4-party meta build. The full speed-run code stacking is on the Working codes page.

Mihawk Title

The Mihawk Title is awarded after 25 Mihawk raid clears. It grants:

  • +8% melee damage (stacks with other titles).
  • Cosmetic Hawk Eyes visor.
  • Permanent access to the Hawk Eyes NPC trainer.

Veterans who already had 25 clears before the title was added get it retroactively. The full title list is on the Title list page.

When to Skip Mihawk

Skip Mihawk if:

  • You haven’t unlocked Sea 2 entry yet (see Second Sea page).
  • Your stats are below 4,000 per category (you’ll be one-shot in Phase 2).
  • You’re grinding Gems instead of stones (Mihawk is stone-focused; World Boss is gem-focused).

If you need Gems specifically, run the Best Beli farming route instead.
