What the Gear Race Is

The Gear race is one of the 12 unlockable races in Re:AOPG. The Gear race line covers Gear Second, Gear Third, Gear Fourth (Snakeman and Bounceman), and the final Gear Fifth transformation. Each transformation requires level milestones, Beli, and specific item drops.

Gear Race Transformation Chain

The Gear race has six unlockable forms:

• Gear Second — level 100 + 50,000 Beli. Speed buff (+50% movement speed for 30 seconds).
• Gear Third — level 200 + 250,000 Beli. Giant arm buff (+200% damage for 20 seconds).
• Gear Fourth Snakeman — level 500 + 2.5M Beli + 50 Rubber Essence. Fastest transformation. Best PvP.
• Gear Fourth Bounceman — level 700 + 5M Beli + 100 Rubber Essence. Tankiest transformation. Best PvE.
• Gear Fifth — level 1,000 + 25M Beli + 200 Rubber Essence + Conqueror’s Haki unlock.
• Awakened Gear Fifth — level 1,500 + 100M Beli + 500 Rubber Essence + all 5 Haki styles unlocked.

Snakeman vs Bounceman

The two Gear Fourth forms have different strengths:

Gear Fourth Snakeman

• Best for: PvP arena, boss burst windows.
• Damage: +250% damage per hit.
• Speed: +80% attack speed.
• Cooldown: 90 seconds.
• Cost: 50 Rubber Essence to unlock.
• Build path: Rubber + Soru + Electro.

Gear Fourth Bounceman

• Best for: PvE raids, tanking World Boss.
• Damage: +150% damage per hit.
• Defense: +60% damage reduction.
• Cooldown: 120 seconds.
• Cost: 100 Rubber Essence to unlock.
• Build path: Rubber + Water Kung Fu + Fishman.

Rubber Essence Farming

Rubber Essence drops from these sources:

• Luffy Island (Sea 1) — 1.5% drop rate, ~2 Essence/hour.
• Wano Country (Sea 3) — 1% drop rate, ~3 Essence/hour.
• World Boss rotation — 2 Essence per kill (2% rate).
• Codes — patch codes drop 5-50 Rubber Essence.

Best Gear Race Builds

The strongest Gear race builds in Patch 5.4:

• Snakeman PvP burst — Rubber + Soru + Electro + Snakeman. Damage ceiling: 250,000 DPS.
• Bounceman tank — Rubber + Water Kung Fu + Fishman + Bounceman. Effective HP: 850,000.
• Hybrid Gear Fifth — Rubber + Sword Saint + Fishman + Gear Fifth. Best raid build.

Gear Fifth Unlock Path

The final transformation takes the longest to unlock:

1. Reach level 1,000.
2. Unlock Conqueror’s Haki.
3. Collect 25M Beli.
4. Collect 200 Rubber Essence.
5. Clear the Wano raid questline.

Average time to unlock: 80-100 hours of active play.

Common Mistakes

• Unlocking Snakeman before Bounceman — Snakeman is faster but less survivable. Unlock both in sequence: Snakeman first (cheaper), then Bounceman for tanking.
• Skipping Conqueror’s Haki — Gear Fifth requires Conqueror’s Haki. Unlock Haki at level 800 before grinding Essence.
• Selling Rubber Essence — never sell. Rubber Essence is the Gear race bottleneck.
• Bounceman in PvP — Bounceman is tanky but slow. Use Snakeman for arena and Bounceman for raids.

Gear Race vs Other Races

The Gear race competes with:

• Lunarian — strongest defense, weaker damage.
• Cyborg — fastest transformation cooldown, weaker damage ceiling.
• Awakened Saiyan — strongest damage ceiling, slowest transformation.
• Mink — best movement speed, weakest defense.

The Gear race sits in the middle: balanced damage and defense. For pure raid DPS, Awakened Saiyan wins. For pure tank, Lunarian wins.
