Re:AOPG How to Defeat Mihawk Solo

Mihawk is the toughest Sea 3 raid boss in Re:AOPG, and he is one of the few bosses that can be soloed reliably with a maxed build. The solo Mihawk clear takes 8-12 minutes with a maxed build and Conqueror’s Haki unlocked. It is the most reliable way to farm the Yoru sword, Mihawk’s Hat, and the Poneglyphs needed for the V4 race awakenings on the Races tier list. Mihawk Solo Prerequisites

Before attempting a solo Mihawk clear, you need:

• Conqueror’s Haki — the unlock chain is on the Haki guide. Without Conqueror’s, your damage is capped at ~25% and Mihawk will out-DPS you.
• Maxed Haki Stats — 4,500+ total Haki for a realistic solo clear, 5,000+ for a fast clear.

Recommended Solo Mihawk Weapon

The recommended primary weapon for the solo Mihawk run is Yoru — Roronoa Zoro’s black sword. Yoru adds +30% Sword Saint damage and is the second-highest sword buff in the game behind True Gryphon. The full sword rankings are on the Sword tier list.

If you do not have Yoru yet, the next-best solo Mihawk weapons are:

• Shanks Sword — +25% Sword Saint damage, drops from the Shanks encounter in the Sengoku Domain side quest.
• Kitetsu III — +22% Sword Saint damage, random drop.
• Wado Ichimonji — +20% Sword Saint damage, mid-tier Zoro quest reward.
• Gryphon V3 — +15% Sword Saint damage, Sea 3 raid drop.

Yoru is the recommended pick because it is the only sword that stacks with the Mihawk’s sword-themed mechanic (Hawk Eye mark) for bonus damage during the burst window.

Recommended Solo Mihawk Devil Fruit

The two recommended Devil Fruits for solo Mihawk are:

• Leopard (Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Leopard) — Mythical Zoan. The fastest melee character in the game, with dash cancelers that fit the Mihawk 360° slash dodge windows. Drops from the Leopard Dungeon (Sea 3 unlock quest).
• Dragon (Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu) — Mythical Zoan. The strongest AoE nuker, with raid-finisher damage. Drops from the Dragon boss raid at Luffy Island.

Leopard is the better solo Mihawk pick because the dash cancelers layer perfectly with the Mihawk dodge windows. Dragon is the better crew Mihawk pick because the AoE nukes the entire arena.

Recommended Solo Mihawk Build

The full recommended build:

• Devil Fruit: Leopard (Mythical Zoan, from Leopard Dungeon).
• Fighting Style: Sword Saint — the strongest base style in the game, quest chain at Skypiea Upper Yard. The full ranking is on the Fighting styles tier list.
• Race: Skypiean — +20% agility and damage with Sword Saint. The Skypiean meta ranking is on the Races tier list.
• Sword: Yoru (+30% Sword Saint damage, from Mihawk drop or market).

This build is the recommended solo Mihawk setup. It clears Mihawk in 8-12 minutes and lets you solo every other Sea 3 boss with the same loadout.

Mihawk’s 3 Phases

Mihawk has three distinct phases. Each phase has a unique mechanic and a unique dodge pattern.

Phase 1 (100% → 70% HP) — Hawk Eye Mark

Mihawk opens with Hawk Eye (mark), which tags one player for 10 seconds and deals 50% bonus damage to them. In solo play, the mark lands on you — every time.

Dodge pattern — When the Hawk Eye mark triggers, dash outward (Soru) immediately and kite at max range. The mark lasts 10 seconds, so kite for the full duration. The mark does not transfer or stack, so just survive the timer.

Damage window — Phase 1 is the longest damage window. Use the burst opener (Leopard transformation + Sword Saint combo) right after the Hawk Eye mark expires. Mihawk has lower aggression in Phase 1, so chain your full combo rotation here.

Phase 2 (70% → 30% HP) — 360° Slash

Mihawk’s signature attack triggers when his HP drops below 70%. He leaps into the air and fires a full-circle black-blade slash that hits everything in range.

Dodge pattern — Dash outward (Soru) the moment Mihawk starts the leap animation. The dodge window is 0.8 seconds. If you are caught in the AoE, use a Lunarian self-revive or a Phoenix revive to survive.

Damage window — Phase 2 is shorter than Phase 1. Focus on sustained Sword Saint combos. The 360° slash comes every 25-30 seconds, so plan your combo opener around the slash timer.

Phase 3 (30% → 0% HP) — Cross-Slash Combo

Mihawk’s enrage phase. At 30% HP, he chains three cross-slashes in quick succession. Each slash covers a different arc.

Damage window — Phase 3 has the smallest damage window but the highest damage output. Mihawk is aggressive and his cross-slash combo hits hard. Use the burst window only when the cross-slash combo ends, then kite for 3-4 seconds before the next opener.

Solo Mihawk Strategy Step-by-Step

1. Open — equip Leopard + Sword Saint + Skypiean and Conqueror’s Haki. Travel to Baratie or Marineford.
2. Hawk Eye kite — when Mihawk tags you with Hawk Eye, dash outward and kite for 10 seconds. Use the Codes hub Raidcounter boost for a +1 raid token.
3. Phase 1 burst — after the Hawk Eye mark expires, open with Leopard transformation + Sword Saint combo. Chain the full rotation.
4. Phase 2 dodge — at 70% HP, dash outward on the 360° slash animation. The dodge window is 0.8 seconds.
5. Phase 3 dodge — at 30% HP, dodge the cross-slash combo (behind, left, right). Practice this on the Marine Admirals first.
6. Finish — burst the last 10% with Leopard transformation. The Mihawk’s Hat and Yoru drop on clear.
