Re:AOPG How to Defeat Mihawk Solo
Solo Mihawk walkthrough, 3 phases, recommended weapons and Conqueror's Haki requirement.
Mihawk is the toughest Sea 3 raid boss in Re:AOPG, and he is one of the few bosses that can be soloed reliably with a maxed build. This guide covers the solo Mihawk walkthrough, the recommended weapons, the suggested Devil Fruit, the Conqueror’s Haki requirement, and the dodge patterns for every Mihawk mechanic. Mihawk spawn data is on the Mihawk raid page, the build data is on the Best builds hub, and the fighting style rankings are on the Fighting styles tier list.
The solo Mihawk clear takes 8-12 minutes with a maxed build and Conqueror’s Haki unlocked. It is the most reliable way to farm the Yoru sword, Mihawk’s Hat, and the Poneglyphs needed for the V4 race awakenings on the Races tier list. The fastest Beli route to fund a Mihawk run is the Beli farming hub, and the Poneglyph trade ratios are on the Trading values page.
Mihawk Solo Prerequisites
Before attempting a solo Mihawk clear, you need:
- Conqueror’s Haki — the unlock chain is on the Haki guide. Without Conqueror’s, your damage is capped at ~25% and Mihawk will out-DPS you.
- Maxed Haki Stats — 4,500+ total Haki for a realistic solo clear, 5,000+ for a fast clear.
- Sea 3 unlocked — 25,000 total stats + 2 Poneglyphs + 5 Aokiji Raids + 5 Leopard Dungeons + 5 Sea Beast kills. The walkthrough is on the Third Sea page.
- Maxed Devil Fruit — Leopard or Dragon (Mythical Zoan) is recommended. Drop sources on the Devil Fruits tier list.
- Yoru sword equipped — drops from Mihawk at 5%, but you can also buy it from the player market at the Trading values page Dragon-base ratio.
Recommended Solo Mihawk Weapon
The recommended primary weapon for the solo Mihawk run is Yoru — Roronoa Zoro’s black sword. Yoru adds +30% Sword Saint damage and is the second-highest sword buff in the game behind True Gryphon. The full sword rankings are on the Sword tier list.
If you do not have Yoru yet, the next-best solo Mihawk weapons are:
- Shanks Sword — +25% Sword Saint damage, drops from the Shanks encounter in the Sengoku Domain side quest.
- Kitetsu III — +22% Sword Saint damage, random drop.
- Wado Ichimonji — +20% Sword Saint damage, mid-tier Zoro quest reward.
- Gryphon V3 — +15% Sword Saint damage, Sea 3 raid drop.
Yoru is the recommended pick because it is the only sword that stacks with the Mihawk’s sword-themed mechanic (Hawk Eye mark) for bonus damage during the burst window.
Recommended Solo Mihawk Devil Fruit
The two recommended Devil Fruits for solo Mihawk are:
- Leopard (Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Leopard) — Mythical Zoan. The fastest melee character in the game, with dash cancelers that fit the Mihawk 360° slash dodge windows. Drops from the Leopard Dungeon (Sea 3 unlock quest).
- Dragon (Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu) — Mythical Zoan. The strongest AoE nuker, with raid-finisher damage. Drops from the Dragon boss raid at Luffy Island.
The full Devil Fruit rankings are on the Devil Fruits tier list.
Leopard is the better solo Mihawk pick because the dash cancelers layer perfectly with the Mihawk dodge windows. Dragon is the better crew Mihawk pick because the AoE nukes the entire arena.
Recommended Solo Mihawk Build
The full recommended build:
- Devil Fruit: Leopard (Mythical Zoan, from Leopard Dungeon).
- Fighting Style: Sword Saint — the strongest base style in the game, quest chain at Skypiea Upper Yard. The full ranking is on the Fighting styles tier list.
- Race: Skypiean — +20% agility and damage with Sword Saint. The Skypiean meta ranking is on the Races tier list.
- Sword: Yoru (+30% Sword Saint damage, from Mihawk drop or market).
- Haki: Conqueror’s Haki + Internal Armament + Future Sight. The full unlock chain is on the Haki guide.
- Accessories: Crown of the Storm + Sea-stone Ring + Warlord’s Cloak. The rankings are on the Accessory tier list.
This build is the recommended solo Mihawk setup. It clears Mihawk in 8-12 minutes and lets you solo every other Sea 3 boss with the same loadout.
Mihawk’s 3 Phases
Mihawk has three distinct phases. Each phase has a unique mechanic and a unique dodge pattern.
Phase 1 (100% → 70% HP) — Hawk Eye Mark
Mihawk opens with Hawk Eye (mark), which tags one player for 10 seconds and deals 50% bonus damage to them. In solo play, the mark lands on you — every time.
Dodge pattern — When the Hawk Eye mark triggers, dash outward (Soru) immediately and kite at max range. The mark lasts 10 seconds, so kite for the full duration. The mark does not transfer or stack, so just survive the timer.
Damage window — Phase 1 is the longest damage window. Use the burst opener (Leopard transformation + Sword Saint combo) right after the Hawk Eye mark expires. Mihawk has lower aggression in Phase 1, so chain your full combo rotation here.
Phase 2 (70% → 30% HP) — 360° Slash
Mihawk’s signature attack triggers when his HP drops below 70%. He leaps into the air and fires a full-circle black-blade slash that hits everything in range.
Dodge pattern — Dash outward (Soru) the moment Mihawk starts the leap animation. The dodge window is 0.8 seconds. If you are caught in the AoE, use a Lunarian self-revive or a Phoenix revive to survive.
Damage window — Phase 2 is shorter than Phase 1. Focus on sustained Sword Saint combos. The 360° slash comes every 25-30 seconds, so plan your combo opener around the slash timer.
Phase 3 (30% → 0% HP) — Cross-Slash Combo
Mihawk’s enrage phase. At 30% HP, he chains three cross-slashes in quick succession. Each slash covers a different arc.
Dodge pattern — Dash behind Mihawk on the first slash, dash left on the second, dash right on the third. Practice this on Aokiji (Marine Admirals) at lower difficulty. The Marine Admirals walkthrough is on the Marine Admirals page.
Damage window — Phase 3 has the smallest damage window but the highest damage output. Mihawk is aggressive and his cross-slash combo hits hard. Use the burst window only when the cross-slash combo ends, then kite for 3-4 seconds before the next opener.
Mihawk Dodge Patterns Cheat Sheet
| Phase | Mechanic | Dodge | Window |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hawk Eye Mark | Dash outward, kite 10s | 10s mark |
| 2 | 360° Slash | Dash outward on leap | 0.8s |
| 3 | Cross-Slash Combo | Behind, left, right | 1.5s total |
Practice the dodge patterns on the Marine Admirals first — Aokiji has a similar cross-slash enrage at lower difficulty.
Solo Mihawk Strategy Step-by-Step
- Open — equip Leopard + Sword Saint + Skypiean and Conqueror’s Haki. Travel to Baratie or Marineford.
- Hawk Eye kite — when Mihawk tags you with Hawk Eye, dash outward and kite for 10 seconds. Use the Codes hub
Raidcounterboost for a +1 raid token. - Phase 1 burst — after the Hawk Eye mark expires, open with Leopard transformation + Sword Saint combo. Chain the full rotation.
- Phase 2 dodge — at 70% HP, dash outward on the 360° slash animation. The dodge window is 0.8 seconds.
- Phase 3 dodge — at 30% HP, dodge the cross-slash combo (behind, left, right). Practice this on the Marine Admirals first.
- Finish — burst the last 10% with Leopard transformation. The Mihawk’s Hat and Yoru drop on clear.
Solo Mihawk Drops
| Drop | Drop Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Yoru | 5% | Roronoa Zoro’s black sword, +30% Sword Saint damage |
| Mihawk title | 10% | Cosmetic “World’s Strongest Swordsman” |
| Poneglyph | 100% (1 per clear) | Used in V4 race awakenings |
| Gems | 100% (25,000) | Currency |
| Mihawk’s Hat | 3% | Cosmetic, tradeable |
The Mihawk solo clear drops the same loot table as the Mihawk raid page. Solo runs let you keep 100% of the drops instead of splitting with a crew.
Solo vs Crew Mihawk
| Aspect | Solo | 3-Person Crew |
|---|---|---|
| Clear time | 8-12 minutes | 6-8 minutes |
| Drop share | 100% | 33% |
| Coordination | None | Medium |
| Recommended for | Solo grinders, drop farming | Speedrunners, raid crews |
Solo Mihawk is slower per clear but lets you keep 100% of the drops. For a single-player Mihawk farming session, solo is the better strategy.
Solo Mihawk Failure Recovery
If you fail a solo Mihawk clear, the Haki guide and Beli farming hub can help you gear up faster. Common failure causes:
- Hawk Eye mark — you did not kite far enough. Use the Soru dash + glide trick to maximize kite distance.
- 360° slash — your dash timing was off. Practice the dash on the Marine Admirals first.
- Cross-slash combo — you did not chain the dodge correctly. Practice the (behind, left, right) pattern on Aokiji first.
The Codes hub has multiple XP and damage boosts that stack with a Mihawk run.
