The Sea Beast is the open-world boss that spawns between Sea 2 islands every 20 minutes. It is a reliable source of mid-tier loot and a required kill for the Third Sea unlock (you need 5 Sea Beast kills to qualify). The drops also feed the Hybrid 4th Gear cooking quest.

Sea Beast Spawn Timer

• Spawn chance per timer tick: 100%.
• Timer: every 20 minutes server time.

4. Receive the Hybrid 4th Gear token (equippable melee weapon).

Best Sea Beast Builds

The Sea Beast has high HP and moderate AoE damage. The top builds are:

• Magma v2 + Water Kung-Fu + Fishman — top single-target DPS, AoE clear for chip damage.
• Mochi v2 + Rokushiki + Cyborg — top survivability, slow but consistent.
• Quake v2 + Rokushiki + Skypiean — best ranged burst, lets you keep distance.

For solo runs, use Magma v2. For crew runs, switch the tank to Mochi v2 and let the DPS carry the timer.

Sea Beast vs World Boss

The Sea Beast is more consistent (100% spawn vs 50%) and easier to solo. The World Boss drops higher-tier loot. Stack both for the best loot-per-hour:

• 0:00 — Sea Beast (100%)
• 0:20 — World Boss check (50%)
• 0:40 — World Boss check (50%)
• 1:00 — Sea Beast (100%) + World Boss check (50%)

Average loot per hour: 3 Sea Beast kills + 2-3 World Boss kills.

Crew Coordination

The fastest Sea Beast kill for a 4-man crew:

1. Quake v2 opens with R-move (top single-target burst).
2. Magma v2 follows with AoE.
3. Mochi v2 tanks the boss’s enrage.
4. Cyborg finishes with ranged burst.

Use the Drops code (2x Drop Rate 30 min) before the next Sea Beast timer.

Complete Sea Beast Spawn Mechanic

The Sea Beast spawns at 100% rate every 20 minutes on both the Second Sea and the Third Sea. The exact spawn windows:

Second Sea Spawn Points

• Zou to Dawn Island — central spawn between the two islands.
• Dawn Island to Enies Lobby — secondary spawn along the southern route.
• Enies Lobby to Zou — northern route spawn.

Third Sea Spawn Points

• Wano to Onigashima — central spawn.
• Revolutionary Base to Egghead — southern route spawn.
• Egghead to Volcanic Island — northern route spawn.

Spawn Timer Mechanics

• Spawn check — every 20 minutes on the server clock (00:00, 00:20, 00:40, 01:00, etc.).
• Spawn chance — 100% in Sea 2 and Sea 3 (Sea 1 has no Sea Beast).
• Despawn — if not killed within 25 minutes, the Sea Beast despawns and the next spawn window is the next 20-minute tick.
• Crew sharing — Sea Beast kills count for every crew member who lands at least one damage tick. The 5-kill requirement for Sea 3 unlock is per-character, not per-crew.

Cooked Sea Beast Quest for Hybrid Fourth Gear

The Cooked Sea Beast drop is the linchpin for the Hybrid 4th Gear quest. Full walkthrough:

Prerequisites

• 1 Cooked Sea Beast (drops at 8% per Sea Beast kill).
• 1 Beast Hammer (drops at 15% per Sea Beast kill — about 7 Sea Beast kills on average).
• 1 Cyborg race essence (drops at 12% per Sea Beast kill, specific to the Cyborg spawn island).
• 5,000 Gems.
• Reach Sea 2 (Zou Island).

Walkthrough

1. Kill Sea Beasts until you have a Cooked Sea Beast + Beast Hammer + Cyborg race essence. Average total: ~25-30 Sea Beast kills (about 8-10 hours of grind).
2. Teleport to Zou Island.
3. Speak to the Cook NPC (located on the south dock, marked by a chef hat icon).
4. Hand over the three items + 5,000 Gems.
5. Receive the Hybrid 4th Gear token (auto-equip).
6. Equip Hybrid 4th Gear in your melee slot — it stacks with Devil Fruit + Fighting Style damage.
