Which Guide Should You Read First?

The three decisions shape every aspect of your Re:AOPG progression:

• Starter character determines your starting stats, your early-game weapon, and the dialogue you get in the tutorial.
• Race locks in your starting bonuses for the entire game. Rerolling costs 5,000 gems — most players reroll at most once.
• Faction controls the late-game PvP matchups, the raids you can join, and the titles you can equip.

The Three Decisions, Ranked by Impact

Not every character decision is equally important. The impact ranking:

1. Race — Largest impact. Locks in your base stats and fighting-style bonus for the entire game.
2. Starter character — Medium impact. Determines starting dialogue and tutorial rewards; mostly aesthetic after level 30.
3. Faction — Late-game impact. Unlocks at level 100 and shapes raid access.

Why Race Matters Most

The race bonus applies to specific fighting styles. For example, Fishman gets +25% damage with Fishman Karate and Fishman Jujutsu, while Skypiean gets +20% agility and +20% damage with Sword Saint. These bonuses scale infinitely, so the race you pick at level 1 is the race you will use at level 300.

How to Read These Guides

If you have never played Re:AOPG, start with best starter characters and pick based on the playstyle you want. Then move to races and confirm your race choice. You can reroll your race once for 5,000 gems, which is exactly what the RELEASE code gives you.

Once you hit level 100, you will be invited to join a faction. The faction choice shapes raid access and PvP matchups. Most players commit to their faction early.

Common Mistakes

The most common character-creation mistakes we see:

• Skipping the getting started guide. It walks you through the optimal decision order.
• Rerolling multiple times. The cost is 5,000 gems per reroll, so most players reroll at most once.
• Ignoring the starter character. Some starters are stronger in the first 30 levels than others.
• Picking Human by default. Human is solid, but Skypiean and Fishman are stronger for the current Patch 5.4 meta.

What to Do After Choosing

After you finish character creation, the recommended path is:

1. Redeem every active code.
2. Finish the Foosha Village quest chain (15 minutes).

4. Reach level 50 using the leveling route.
5. Join a faction at level 100.
