Re:AOPG Fighting Styles Tier List — Multiverse Sea

Fighting styles are the second half of every strong build in Re:AOPG. They define your melee combos, your dash game, your combo ceiling, and how well you can chain your Devil Fruit skills together. The Multiverse Sea patch (Aug 2026) added new crossover styles from the Multiverse Sea region and rebalanced a few of the original Rokushiki styles.

The crossover styles sit in their own tier above everything else. They drop only in Multiverse Sea content and require rare event items to unlock. After the crossover tier, Sword Saint is the top style in the base game, then the Rokushiki and elemental styles round out the S and A tiers. Every style is unlocked from a trainer NPC at a specific island, and most of them need you to finish a quest chain that takes 30 minutes to 2 hours.

S+ Tier — Multiverse Sea Crossovers

These styles drop from raid bosses in the Multiverse Sea event region. They are the strongest melee kits in the live game and each one defines a different playstyle.

StyleSourceBest For
Ultra InstinctGoku crossover raidReaction-based PvP, auto-dodge
AcceleratorAccelerator raid at New AlabastaSpeed scaling, hit-and-run
GojoGojo raid at Multiverse SeaInfinity tank, AoE nuker
SukunaSukuna raid at Multiverse SeaBurst windows, slash combos
Berserker ArmorBerserker dungeonTrade damage, fire tank
Ultimate SlimeSlime crossover islandHybrid form, status immune
Vector ControlVector raidReflection tank, control
BerserkerMultiverse Sea questTrade damage, off-tank
TojiMultiverse Sea questBurst windows, anti-Haki

Ultra Instinct vs Accelerator — Ultra Instinct is reactive; it auto-dodges incoming hits at high Awakening levels. Accelerator is proactive; it lets you stack speed until you out-pace every other style. Ultra Instinct wins 1v1 against burst; Accelerator wins against sustained styles and kiting matchups.

Gojo vs Sukuna — Gojo is the Infinity tank with the strongest defense in the game. Sukuna is the burst window specialist with the highest single-target damage. Gojo wins raid anchoring; Sukuna wins boss-killing and short fights.

Berserker Armor vs Vector Control — Berserker Armor trades incoming damage for outgoing damage — every hit you take buffs your next swing. Vector Control reflects projectiles back at the attacker. They are both anti-melee counters but Berserker Armor wants to be hit while Vector Control wants you to attack it.

Ultimate Slime is a hybrid form that swaps between a tank stance and a DPS stance. It is the only crossover style that scales with both Haki and Devil Fruit stats, which makes it the strongest pick for hybrid builds.

Who should pick a crossover? Players who have cleared Multiverse Sea content and have the event materials to unlock the styles. They are not starter picks — every crossover requires a raid clear plus a rare drop.

S Tier — Top Base Styles

After the crossover styles, Sword Saint is the strongest base style in the game. It is unlocked via a quest chain at Skypiea Upper Yard and scales with any sword you equip — swords do not replace the style, they amplify it. After Sword Saint, the strongest base styles are Death Step, Sharkman Karate, and Electro.

Sword Saint vs Death Step — Sword Saint gives the highest sustained melee DPS in the base game and scales with any equipped sword. Death Step stacks combo damage on consecutive hits, but does not benefit from a sword slot. Sword Saint wins extended fights; Death Step wins combo strings without gear.

Sharkman Karate vs Electro — Sharkman Karate is the strongest water style and the top pick for the Fishman race. Electro gives a guaranteed crit every fourth hit. They fill different niches; Sharkman wins Sea Beast and water-heavy fights, Electro wins 1v1 burst windows.

Rokushiki Soru vs Rokuogan — Soru is the fastest dash style and the top pick for Mink race. Rokuogan is the strongest ranged style in the base game and scales with Haki. They pair together on a Mink character for the strongest hybrid ranged-melee setup.

A Tier — Strong Main Picks

Dragon ClawFoosha Village trainerBeginner-friendly opener
Rokushiki AteOrange Town quest chainPressure poke
Rokushiki ShiganMarine HQ quest chainSingle-target finisher

Dragon Claw is the easiest style to learn and the recommended first style for new players. It has a high damage dash opener that forgives timing mistakes. Rokushiki Ate is the pressure pick — it pokes at mid-range and builds stacks. Rokushiki Shigan is the single-target finisher — it pops low-HP opponents in 2 to 3 hits.

B Tier — Niche Picks

StyleUnlockBest For
Rokushiki TekkaiMarine HQ quest chainDefensive, raid niche
Rokushiki RankyakuMarine HQ quest chainRanged kicks

These are base Rokushiki styles. They are outclassed by Sword Saint and the crossover styles, but they still have niche uses in coordinated raid groups where a defensive anchor or a long-range kick is needed.

Race Synergies

Every fighting style gets a bonus on certain races. The biggest race-to-style pairings:

RaceBest StyleBonus
FishmanSharkman Karate+25% damage, water-style scaling
MinkRokushiki Soru+15% speed and damage
SkypieanSword Saint+20% agility and damage
LunarianBerserker Armor+20% fire damage, self-revive
CyborgDeath Step+12% flat damage, tech scaling
Ultimate SlimeUltimate Slime styleHybrid form scaling

Fishman + Sharkman Karate — the strongest water combo in the game. The Fishman 25% bonus turns Sharkman Karate from A-tier into an S+ tier style.

Mink + Rokushiki Soru — the fastest dash combo in the game. Mink’s +15% speed lets you chain Soru dashes into combos that no other race can match.

Skypiean + Sword Saint — the top sustained-DPS combo. Skypiean’s agility bonus amplifies Sword Saint’s damage to its ceiling.

Lunarian + Berserker Armor — the immortal bruiser combo. Lunarian’s fire bonus stacks with Berserker Armor’s fire damage, and the self-revive synergy is the strongest in the game.

The full race list and bonuses are on the Races page.

How to Learn a Style

  1. Reach the level requirement (most styles need level 50+).
  2. Talk to the trainer NPC at the unlock location.
  3. Complete the quest chain (30 minutes to 2 hours).
  4. Equip the style from your inventory.

Most base styles unlock from Foosha Village (Dragon Claw), Orange Town (Rokushiki Soru, Rokushiki Ate, Electro), Marine HQ (Shigan, Tekkai, Rankyaku), Fishman Island (Sharkman Karate), Water 7 (Death Step), and Skypiea Upper Yard (Sword Saint, Rokuogan). Crossover styles unlock from Multiverse Sea content.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Re:AOPG questions.

Which fighting style is best for beginners in Re:AOPG?

Dragon Claw. It is available at the Foosha Village trainer NPC, has a forgiving dash opener, and pairs with any Rare-tier Devil Fruit from the [Devil Fruits tier list](/tier-list/devil-fruits/). Once you hit level 50, switch to Rokushiki Soru or Death Step.

Is Sword Saint the strongest style in Re:AOPG?

Sword Saint is the strongest base style in the game. The crossover styles from Multiverse Sea (Ultra Instinct, Accelerator, Gojo, Sukuna, Berserker Armor, Ultimate Slime, Vector Control) sit above it, but among the styles you can unlock from base-game quest chains, Sword Saint is the top pick. Swords scale Sword Saint — they do not replace it.

What is the best race + fighting style combo?

Fishman + Sharkman Karate (+25% damage), Mink + Rokushiki Soru (+15% speed and damage), and Skypiean + Sword Saint (+20% agility and damage) are the three strongest combos. Full race bonuses are on the [Races page](/players/races/).

Where do I unlock Sword Saint?

Sword Saint is unlocked from the Skypiea Upper Yard trainer NPC after a quest chain that requires level 100+ and a cleared Skypiea arc. The walkthrough is on the [Getting started guide](/guides/getting-started/).

Do crossover styles replace Sword Saint in the meta?

Yes for end-game PvP. Ultra Instinct, Accelerator, Gojo, Sukuna, Berserker Armor, Ultimate Slime, and Vector Control all sit above Sword Saint. Sword Saint is still the best base-game style and the natural first goal before you chase crossover unlocks in Multiverse Sea.
