Frost Boss Raid in Re:AOPG (Patch 5.11 Christmas)

The Frost Boss is the limited-time Christmas raid boss introduced in Patch 5.11 Christmas (December 2026). It drops the Frost Saberu (Mythic sword, +15% ice damage passive) and 5-8 Mythical Fragments per clear on Hard difficulty. The raid is open for the 14-day Christmas event window (December 15 - January 5, 2027).

This guide covers the Frost Boss 3-phase strategy, the frost-immune build priority, the drop table, and how to clear the raid in under 4 minutes per attempt. The Frost Boss is the highest-tier raid boss in the live game after the Gods Valley Champion, and the Frost Saberu drop is the second-highest trade value Mythic weapon after the Godly Saberu. For the broader raid ladder see the Raids Hub and Raid Tier List pages.

Frost Boss Drop Table (Hard Difficulty)

The Frost Saberu is the headline drop. It’s a Mythic-tier sword with +15% ice damage passive, +30% Sword Saint damage passive, and a Mythic Awakening rank 3+ equip requirement. The estimated trade value is 200-300 Dragon on launch.

The boss is weak to fire damage. Bring Phoenix Mythic fruit, Magma, or Lunarian race for the +50% fire damage bonus.

Frost Boss 3-Phase Strategy

Phase 1 — Frost Aura (100% → 60% HP)

The Frost Boss starts with a Frost Aura passive that slows all attack speed by 25% within 30 studs of the boss. The aura is countered by:

  • Fire damage: Any fire-source damage removes 1 stack of Frost Aura per hit (max 5 stacks).
  • Mythic Awakening rank 5+: Reduces Frost Aura slow to 10%.
  • Fighting style: Berserker Armor: Ignores 50% of attack speed slow.

Strategy for Phase 1:

  1. Open with fire damage (Phoenix Mythic M1 or Magma burst).
  2. Stack 5 Frost Aura removals within the first 30 seconds.
  3. Burn the boss from 100% to 60% HP with Sword Saint + fire support.

Phase 2 — Ice Spikes (60% → 30% HP)

At 60% HP, the Frost Boss summons 8 Ice Spike pillars around the arena. Standing within 5 studs of an Ice Spike deals 2,000 damage per second and applies a 30% movement speed slow for 3 seconds. The pillars must be destroyed (15,000 HP each) before the boss can be damaged.

Strategy for Phase 2:

  1. Split the crew — 2 players destroy pillars, 4 players continue boss DPS.
  2. Use AoE clear (Bazooka, Quake Mythic, Kaboom) on pillars to speed up.
  3. Avoid the inner ring — pillars deal damage in a 5-stud radius.
  4. Burn the boss from 60% to 30% HP during the pillar phase.

Phase 3 — Frost Nova (30% → 0% HP)

At 30% HP, the Frost Boss unleashes a Frost Nova that deals 8,000 damage to all players within 50 studs and applies a 60% movement speed slow for 5 seconds. The Nova is followed by a 30-second burn phase where the boss takes +25% damage.

Strategy for Phase 3:

  1. Save fire burst cooldowns for Phase 3.
  2. Stack the +25% burn damage window (30 seconds).
  3. Use Gods Valley Native race’s combat HP regen to survive the Nova.
  4. Burn the boss from 30% to 0% HP within the 30-second window.

Frost-Immune Build Priority

The frost-immune build minimizes the Frost Aura slow and maximizes fire damage:

The optimal crew is 6 players. Solo clears are possible with Lunarian V4 + Phoenix Mythic + Berserker Armor + Godly Saberu, but expect 6-8 minute clear times vs the 3:30-4:00 minute crew clear.

How to Unlock the Frost Boss

The Frost Boss is unlocked automatically with Patch 5.11 Christmas. No prerequisite raid clear is required. The raid NPC spawns at the Christmas Multiverse Sea island (limited-time, December 15 - January 5, 2027).

Step 1: Sail to the Christmas Multiverse Sea island. Step 2: Talk to the Frost Boss raid NPC. Step 3: Pay the entry fee (5,000 Beli per attempt on Hard). Step 4: Engage the Frost Boss.

The Christmas Multiverse Sea island access is on the Event Calendar page.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Bringing ice damage to the Frost Boss raid. The boss has -75% ice resistance. Phoenix Mythic and Magma are the strongest picks, not Frost Mythic.
  • Ignoring Phase 2 Ice Spikes. The pillars must be destroyed before the boss can be damaged. Split the crew 2/4 to handle them.
  • Not saving fire burst for Phase 3. The 30% HP burn window is the highest damage opportunity. Hold cooldowns.
  • Soloing with a non-Lunarian race. Lunarian’s self-revive on Frost Nova is the difference between a 4-minute clear and a wipe.
  • Missing the 14-day event window. The Frost Boss raid closes on January 5, 2027. The Frost Saberu Mythic drop is event-locked.

The Frost Saberu is a niche pick for ice-damage builds. The Godly Saberu is the better general-purpose pick. Trade the Frost Saberu for Dragon if you’re not running an ice build.

What does the Frost Boss drop in Re:AOPG?

Frost Saberu (Mythic, 8% drop), 5-8 Mythical Fragments (guaranteed), Christmas Aura (15%), Christmas Title Token (25%), Snow Blade Mythic (5%), and 100-300 Gems (50%). The full table is on the [Frost Boss Raid Guide](/bosses/frost-boss-guide/) page.

How do I beat the Frost Boss raid?

Bring fire damage (Lunarian + Phoenix Mythic or Cyborg + Magma), split the crew 2/4 to handle Phase 2 Ice Spikes, and save fire burst cooldowns for the 30% HP burn window. The full 3-phase strategy is on the [Frost Boss Raid Guide](/bosses/frost-boss-guide/) page.

Is the Frost Saberu worth grinding?

Only for ice-damage builds (Lunarian + Phoenix Mythic). For general-purpose PvP/raid, the Godly Saberu is stronger. The full comparison is on the [Frost Boss Raid Guide](/bosses/frost-boss-guide/) and [Sword Tier List](/tier-list/sword-tier-list/) pages.
